Payment Policies

The credit card you used to make the reservation will be charged for 100% of the reservation 48 hours (2 days) before arrival.  

We accept Visa and MasterCard.

If you do not have a valid credit card, please contact us, and we can provide you with bank transfer information.  All payments must be made before your arrival to confirm your reservation without a valid credit card.  

Cancelations made after this date are not eligible for refunds.  If you need to make changes to your reservation, please do so before this time.  

Rental rates are subject to a 10% Hotel Tax.  

All payments, including dog fees and extras, need to be made before your arrival as we do not handle cash on the property.  

Cancelations and Refunds

Your reservation will automatically be charged to the card on file two days before arrival.  (for example:  if your arrival date is the 3rd, your card will be charged after on the 1st early morning)  

Cancelations made after this date are not eligible for refunds.  If you need to make changes to your reservation, please do so before this time.  

Conditions beyond our control, i.e., weather, road conditions, power outage, government-mandated travel restrictions, flight cancellations, phone outages, Wifi outages, or guest emergencies, do not constitute a basis for refunds.

Property Becomes Inoperable:

Istmo Bungalows reserves the right to substitute comparable accommodations should the home be out of order or unavailable without notice or liability.  When equal accommodations are not available, guests will have the option of selecting from available properties at the published rate or receiving a full refund.

Cleaning:

You are expected to care for the bungalows during your stay.

Should the home require, extra cleaning or unreported damages are found, you at this moment authorize Istmo Bungalows to charge your credit card for these costs.

Release of Liability:

Guests agree to hold owners and Istmo Bungalows free and clear of any liability for damage to self or property resulting from accident or injury, or loss of enjoyment due to power outages, weather conditions, defective construction, fire, theft, INOPERABLE appliances, and equipment, etc.  Istmo Bungalows will make every effort to ensure the facilities and house equipment are in working order. 

Power Outages

Occasional power outages happen throughout Panama. They are out of our control and probably affecting everyone in the area.

No monetary compensation will occur if this happens.

Food Options

Our property does not have restaurant service, breakfast, or bar.  However, you will find a menu of a local catering service in your room.   The food on their menu is an excellent and inexpensive way to taste the local cuisine, and they deliver to Istmo at no additional charge. 

The town of Las Uvas is 5 minutes away, where you will find a gas station convenience store with an ATM, a local supermarket, a pizza restaurant, and more local options.  

Otherwise, we recommend Pizzaria Arte Sana, a 10-minute drive from us on the highway towards El Valle, or the more upscale Camisones an 8-minute drive from us. Coronado commercial area(15 minutes) has many more restaurant options.  All of the above can be found on google maps.

Amenities We Supply And What You Should Bring

Upon arrival, we supply (but do not replenish or wash unless requested- for an additional fee)

  • shampoo, conditioner, soap 
  • all bedding, bath towels, beach towels, washcloths, hand towels, and dish towels
  • toilet paper 
  • cleaning products- dish soap, cleaning solution for mopping 
  • pots, pans, cooking and eating utensils, serving bowls, plates, mugs, glasses, wine glasses, cutlery, toaster oven, basic coffee maker, blender microwave, oven, refrigerator, small BBQ.  (ONLY FOR UNITS WITH KITCHENS)

Bring what you need for cooking, including oil, salt, sugar, and spices.

Guests provide their charcoal and lighter for the barbecue.

Check-In

Check-in is between 3 pm and 6 pm.  If you know you will be arriving after 6 pm, please let us know so that we may make arrangements.  

Please know that early check-ins are subject to availability if you want to check into your room before 3 pm.  The earliest we can let guests into their rooms is at 10 am.  The early check in fee is $10 per hour before 3 pm.   Please let us know before you arrive if you would like to request an early check-in.  

On the day of check-in, we will send you a WhatsApp message with the exact location of Istmo Bungalows.  We ask that you let us know when you are turning onto Playa Grande Road so that we may arrange for someone to meet you at the parking area to greet you and take you to your room. 

Please note that the person who greets you will ask to see your ID and will take a picture of it for our records. 

You will find the Wi-fi details and other important information in your room on a framed sheet of paper.  

Cleaning/Check Out

All rooms need to be checked out before noon on check-out.  

Subject to availability, we offer a late checkout until 2:00 pm for an additional $20 per individual unit. The availability of a late checkout depends on other reservations for the unit you are staying in. Due to our limited units we can only confirm late check-out availability on the day of your check-out.  

As an alternative to a late check-out, after vacating your room by noon, you may leave your car at the parking lot to go to the beach.   You are welcome to use the outdoor showers when you return.  

Beds           -    We will supply all of your bed linens. Please do not strip beds when you leave.

Bathrooms  -    Please put all used towels/washcloths in the bathroom.  If it a wet, place it on the floor.  Make sure there is no sand on the floor.  

Floors         -    Please sweep as needed.  Make sure there is no sand on the floor.  

Kitchen       -    Please wipe down kitchen areas used, remove all food from the refrigerator and freezer and wipe up any spills.  

Dishes        -    Please wash, dry, and put away all dishes.

Please do not litter on the property, including cigarette butts and dog waste.

Should the unit require extra cleaning or unreported damages are found, you at this moment authorize Istmo Bungalows to charge your credit card for these costs.

Fees For Pets - Dogs Only

Your dog is welcome here!  

There is a $10 + ITBMS per dog per night charge.  Please let us know before your arrival if you will have a dog so that we may add this to your bill, as we do not handle payments on the property.  

We request that you let us know when you are turning on the Playa Grande Road on arrival day so that we can pen up our dogs (a Whatsapp to +507 6387-9855 would work the best).  Our dogs are great with humans but get territorial with other dogs.  

We ask that your dog is leashed while on the property and that you pick up their mess after them.  Dogs are not allowed on the beds or furniture.

Additional Services

Massage - $ 60 for 1 hour.  

Deep tissue or relaxing massage. Requires booking 48 hours before, and availability is not guaranteed due to the schedule of the masseuse.

Housekeeping during your stay -  $20 per bungalow per cleaning.

Our price does not include daily housekeeping. However, we are pleased to include it for an additional fee. Our units have their cleaning supplies if you prefer to clean your own space. Please let us know ahead of time if you would like this service and which days.

Laundry Service - $9 per load

We are happy to offer a laundry service at $9 per load. Our staff will wash your clothes in the washer and dryer on-premises. They will deliver your clothes folded to your room.
